| Debbie showed a juvenile horse for us when I was about 6-7. Frank had bought 2 horses from Vic Thompson. One of them was Jet's Security and I can't remember the other. One of them coliced and died right before the Celebration and the other bowed a tendon I think. Our horse was named C.O.'s Go Boy and she tied second that year. The horse that she used to show around here so much was named Confederate Raider.

| Answer: The horse Carlton is holding in the photo is "Jack's Big Thing". Seems like I remember seeing where this horse was a Futurity winner (?)

| I had this photo labeled "Mr. Freewheel" and I'm pretty sure that's how it was captioned in the magazine, but it doesn't look like him does it? Doesn't look like Ellis, but it does look like David Welsh.
Mason thinks it's Welsh and Sun's Eliminator. I think he may be right. What do yall think? |

| That photo was in a Voice from the late 60s or early 70s. Not sure which one, but it was one that Bubbadog sent me. I have since returned it. It was a small photo in the magazine. I think it's Welsh for sure, but not sure about it being Sun's Eliminator.
Speaking of Sun's Eliminator, Mason sent me an amusing story about that horse, that I will share with you now:
Mason said...
"I saw that Picture of David Welsh and I THINK Suns Eliminator...
When Darcy Gallager was going to MTSU I worked him for a while...MEANEST sonofagun I ever saw......would kick at the drop of a hat......he would see a horse behind him when you were leading him and start backing up kickin....you couldnt stop him once he decided to start kicking....We took him to MTSU and Darcy rode him at a football game..on the way back to the trailer I noticed his tail had slipped out of the brace at the breakover..I thought Id straighten it up (for what I dont know..we were done) that sonofagun kicked with both back feet ..they went on either side of my head..thank goodness they missed or I would not be telling you this today. I didnt see it but after I had him he cleaned out that building at the Celebration where they check horses.......(I think thats funny).
I got a notion to cut him. I called Darcys mom and she said they would have to think about it. When I talked to them again they werent exactly for it but said go ahead. I called Dr. Jackson and cut him within an hr of talking to her. She called back and said NO...NO we have decided NOT to castrate him..I said TOO LATE !!!
He was not only mean.....he was INDESTRUCTIBLE. Once when Bob Gallager(Darcys Dad) and Pee Wee Glover were bringing him to Middle Tn..they were driving a big motor home, pulling a trailer with Eliminator in it...they stopped for gas and noticed the trailer was GONE.....They back tracked several miles and he was grazing on the side of the road..........one tough sonofagun.
Thats been 30-40 yrs ago I'd guess...............bet hes still alive messin with folks somewhere!"

| Doesn't look like Jimmy Ellis to me either....I would also go with David Welch.
Is Darcy still in the horse biz? She was a good jockey and I loved the big horse she showed in the 80's-90's??? For the life of me, I cannot think of his full name. I remember "Man", someone fill it the blanks for me!!! |

| The last I heard of Darcy, your right ,she was in Texas. That Man of Pride horse was a good'un.As I remember ol' Eliminator was pretty mean.David was having trouble with putting on the brace or something one time at a show and I went over to help him and he said "just hold his head and watch him this son of a gun will kill you." |
