Also in the 80's, a mother and daughter won the A & B divisions of the Three Year Old Mare & Gelding class.
Who were they?

I find this amazing!! So many families..especially a parent and child showing in the same classes!! That was certainly a new trend. At first I thought it might be some of the riders of the late '60s and early '70s and their children showing together but I don't recognize these names. It looks like showing the TWH became a family thing and new families were getting into the sport. Back in our day if our parents even showed it would have been in something like the Amateur for Gentleman over 60...you just didn't see it very often. Off the top of my head I can only think of a few that did. It seemed that our parents were content to be owners and took enjoyment in watching us and/or our trainers show the horses that they bought. This was a nice progression.

Maybe Sammy and Jason Day, but i doubt it. I could have sworn that Tim and Billy split it between them one year maybe with JFK and Moonshine. Oh well, guess not. I'll be interested to see how this one ends.

This would have been in the 80's. It is possible there could have been others to do it, but this trainer had a very successful training career and rode a World Grand Champion...

Also in the 80's, a breakfast was held for a prominent State Senator during the Celebration.
He was hailed as a "friend" to the industry.
Who was he and in what state did he hold office?
