WHT Memorials Snmisbap7

After much consideration, I've decided we need a place on here to offer our condolences for the recently departed. A place to send up prayers for the ill or for those facing difficult times in their lives is needed as well. I will also post memorials to those who have passed on in the past, if anyone would like to send me text and photos or wishes to post it themselves. Since this is a message board, I cannot guarantee the longevity of any posts.

I don't wish to promote this as a "theological discussion" topic or turn this into a pulpit, (for obvious reasons) but if you wish to post a general prayer of some sort, that's fine as well. Please use discretion.

I didn't know of this gentleman, but I'm sure someone out there does. Walking Horse owner Tom Willis of Cookeville, TN has passed on.

The church you have pictured looks a LOT like the little church I call my "home church" just outside Shelbyville on the road that turns by the blue water tower toward Chapel Hill. I was one of six there Sunday, not including the preacher, who happens to be Gary Smith brother of Patty Marek and breeder of Sky Miles and Rosetta Stone among other great ones.

Graymare,

I've been in the church in that painting, and some of you may have as well.
That's the old Baptist church in Cade's Cove in the Smokies.

Prayers are needed for Mrs. Beverly Sherman. She lost control of or collapsed on her horse during her victory pass. They were doing CPR. That is not a good thing........ pale

This is the latest off the chat "I just got off of the phone with Todd Claiborn.

Bev has 3 stints in her heart. She got to Vanderbilt in the wee hours of the morning. There was major blockage in her main artery. She also is now breathing pretty much on her own with minimal help. She can wiggle her toes. She also has 4 broken ribs which are the least of her worries at this point.

I think we all need to keep praying for Bev and her family and we all need to be especially thankful for our friend Fred Benjamin. It looks like Fred was a huge difference maker and a hero

There is another later update this morning that says she is in a room, talking, and responsive. What wonderful news!! I guess if you have to have a major heart attack, the show is better than some places such as perhaps home alone among others. There were multiple doctors, nurses, medics, etc, who RUSHED to her aide. Also, the multitude of prayers were probably the best medicine she could have gotten. I hope she makes a full recovery quickly. My prayers are with her as well.

I attended Norris Shaws funeral yesterday & then went to the Lewisburg horse show. I talked to Doug Wolaver at the funeral & his exwife Sis Osborne took my money to enter the horse show. Bobby Sands stood in as the Preacher. The small chapel was full. I saw Steve Aymet, Rollie Beard, Steve Beech & Mike Carpenter. The wife & Sister inlaw weren't able to attend. I think I recognized Claude Shaw, his brother.

The Feds weren't at the show. Most classes were loaded with good horses. I didn't stay for the stake. Jamie Hankins was judge & Robbie Spiller was an apprentice. Jamie was generous to the Kentucky folks, in most cases, because they brought good horses. I was glad to see Bill BoBo sitting more upright on a black horse he showed. There was a good sized crowd too. It came a downpour about 9 or 10 over about SW Beeches, but didn't rain at the show.

Doug Wolaver told me that he started both Mack K's Handshaker & Janes Spirit.

The Tenn Vols lost a big fan, BoBo's lost a longtime employee & Arthur Gordon has just lost his farm manager in FLUFF SWAGGERTY, He passed away during the night. I have just gotten off the phone with Russ Thompson & He revealed this to me. Fluff was associated with some mighty fine horses in his time.
