| Boy you smart! Gene & Champion checking in at The Hermitage "When Gene Autry checked into The Hermitage Hotel in 1941, it was a huge honor. Mr. Autry was one of the top celebrities of his day, but what made his visit even more special was that his horse, Champion, stayed right by his side – and even slept in a separate room in The Hermitage Hotel." Can't find any confirmation that this horse was the TWH "Stonewall Allen" or not, but his blaze and the small spot on his nose suggest to me that this was indeed "Stonewall Allen", also known as "Lindy Champion". During this visit, Champion reportedly stayed on the 4th floor of The Hermitage | |

| The only trainer I know of that definately wrote a book was Joe Webb. Whoever this is has to be in his 70's or 80's if he was on an Air Force team in 1962. | |

| Barn is CORRECT! It's Howard Roberts, who did write a children's book years ago. Seems like the book had a Tennessee Walking Horse in the story (?) (I don't recall where I got that info, but I believe it's bonafide)

| In 1966 Sun's Queen Cathy and Bob Burris Sr.won the 5 year old and over mare class. In 1965 the aged mare class was the 4 year old mare class. They placed 4th in that class.
Hint: At that time Bob Burris was located at a famous Breeding barn. | |
