- Harold White is CORRECT!
Harold passed way last year, but is fondly remembered by lots of folks. He was a MASTER judge in a lot of people's estimation. Very interesting individual.
The hoss is GIRL OF DISTINCTION.
Harold was one of a kind! He and Knox Curtis worked Ebony's Melody the year she won the Amateur Mare Title in 1972. Of course this never would have happened but for the untimely death of Rock-A-Bye Lady, the greatest mare ever. Clarence Daugette was a shoe-in for that class, but it wasn't meant to be. I digress......Girl of Distinction, better known around the barn as "Stinky" was a love. She was shown to a Reserve World Championship by Vanette Kirkland in the early 70's. Early 70's also found us stabled at the famed Haynes Haven farm where Harold also worked Sir Winston's Gypsy & Ebony's Cat Balleau (sp), who Bob and Norma Gallager bought. Harold lived in the office of the main barn and could throw a party!!! Another thing many people did not know about Harold was that he took tickets at the Vanderbilt Football and Basketball games. When I was in High School, he would always slip me in and I saw some great games in Memorial Stadium!!! Loved it and Loved him!!!! CBB |
