As a closet Gaited horse fan(my first showhorse was a five gaited pony)
I rgret I never saw Wing Commander or My My, but I did see Yorktown
Exhibited at the Trainers show at Ellington Ag. Center. He may be the
Greatest horse I have ever seen.

Yorktown & Tom Moore is CORRECT! thumbs up

Yorktown was the first World Champion of any breed I ever saw. I was just 11 years old when I traveled with my Mother up to Freedom Hall to see him win his last title back in 1972. We sat WAY up in the stands, as it was a packed house that night. I had never even been to the Celebration at this time. He was the first horse to ever give me "cold chills" I have seen a couple since then that were probably just as talented, notably, Skywatch & Imperator...............but it seems there was just something about Yorktown and The Tall Man that made him a little more special, at least to me.

With most Gaited horses the rack is the thing
You remember. Yorktown trotted as fast as a
Road horse with twice the action. It was '69
& '70 when we saw him. Unforgettable!

Yes, my memories are vague, as it was a long time ago and I was just a kid, but I do remember he was fast, broke way high in front and had good hock action to boot. When they put the spotlight on him it was every bit as exciting and athletic as any walking horse I ever saw. The photo shown on the previous page was taken probably the year before I saw him, as I recall that same exact photo was on the program I got that night. I saved that program for many, many years. Not sure whatever happened to it, but I saw one just like it at a Flea Mall a few years back and was tempted to buy it just for the sake of nostalgia. Kinda wish I had.

I think he was the prettiest Walking Horse I ever saw. I liked Shades of Carbon speed at the running walk, seems like he could fly.

Marianne Leech is correct. The hoss might be tougher to get...

Hint: The sire of this hoss was probably Go Boy's Invasion

I must admit that I cheated on this one. I found this one in an old National Horseman.
The horse is Invasion Over.
