| Thanks for the vids, Smitty. The live feed wasn't working too good for me. I liked Tim's 2 yr old stud, he might make a good one when he grows up.
Am I the only person who misses the good old days when show horses wore real tail braces and not those ridiculous looking tie on half brace/crupper things? The tie ons just don't look as nice.

| Curbchain That Crupper Tail Brace looks just as Bad as These Trainers Slumped over the horses Neck, I just come up with something that will make us Rich. Sellin Baby Powder to these Trainers, NOT for the Horses , Don't it look like they are Scared to SET DOWN in the Saddle, Think about it  | |

| Bingo Time, Tim Greys 2 yr old was more impressive than the stake horses. Winky was showing a very sound horse. | |

| I'm with you man, I just don't get the whole sit on your crotch and slump over like you ain't got no backbone posture. I think most of the young trainers will admit to wanting to be like Billy Gray, Ronal Young or Ramsey Bullington, so I don't understand why they don't try to sit a hoss more like those guys. Think about all the good horses these guys have shown and all the ribbons and trophies they've won, and how many times have you seen them lookin like the old monkey and football.
I remember one year at Gallatin, Ramsey showed Pattern in the Stake (and won it) and his breaststrap broke. That horse was doing so much, the saddle slipped back about a foot, but Bull's seat never changed and he never stopped riding.
For me, a bad sitting rider really takes away from the horse. I saw Ronal show ET Professor in Ashville as a 3 yr old. I ain't never seen a horse doing that much in my life. Ronal rode that horse so good that you almost didn't even notice him up there. You watched the horse, not the rider.
Oh well, off my soap box!!!!!

| Well I just watched the PCS stake video & was very impressed with Ted Williams. He is definately WGC material. He was batting about .300 that night & looks like he can improve with a different bit & some more tweaking. I was also impressed with Cadillacs Bum in the adds at Woodbury. These are by far the best stake horses I've seen along with King of the Jungle. | |

| Thanks for the videoes, Smitty. I really enjoyed watching them. In fact, since I joined this board, I find myself checking several times a day to see if anything new has been added. Again, thanks a million.
Hilley has done a good job with Ted Williams. He looks to be coming along nicely, but personally, I'm not too crazy about him. I think he will look much different with a sho'nuff good hoss beside him. I hope I'm not out of line for posting this, and I'm certainly not trying to run down anyone's horse or start an argument as this is strictly my opinion, but I think he's a little suspect behind for a WGC contender. I'm sure he'll get a nice piece of the pie, but I don't look for him to be the one to make the last pass. He sets up in the bridle nice and uses his front end well, but he's too slick behind for me. A walking horse must walk behind. Compare TW's gear behind with the colt that won the 2 yr old amatuer class (Nine in the Sky). Now granted, we're talking about an aged stake horse compared with a 2 yr old amatuer horse, but focus on the gear they're doing behind. Block out everything else. Now to me, that colt is honest to God walking off his hind end. Ted, not so much. Oh well, walking horses are like ice cream, there's a lick for everybody!!
Thanks again for the video, Smitty and I hope no one

| No problem Curb, glad to have you aboard. I tend to agree with your analysis on Ted. Remember though, the rules have changed! Unfortunately, it's not like it used to be. I'll say no more about that.......
Yes, in the past we did draw some fire from an irate person who did not like our opinion of their horse, that horse being Jose's Intimidator. We weren't really slamming him, just stating our opinion on his chances of winning the WGC. Looks like we were correct on that one. We all need to be courteous (as you were) when we make an opinionated statement, but I also think when you run for office, star in a movie or campaign a horse for a WGC you are putting yourself in the public spotlight. You've got to be able to take the heat or get out of the kitchen.

| Watched most of the videos and think the trainers are doing a great job of putting "free" going horses in the ring. My caution would be to the judges: If they work the classes too long, they won't have a clue of what to tie. These horse won't hold together very long going the way they are going. Seems like the running walk is gaining popularity now-a-days. Maybe they should return to the old judging standards of the running walk counting 40% instead of the current 25%. Just a thought. | BigEd I think you might be Right on Both, its Tough to get these horses in the ring and keep them together for a long period of time. | |

| I hear The Coach wasn't too sharp last night. I actually like that horse when he's at his best, but he sure can look common at times as well. I will go with Weekend Warrior to win the WGC and give Landrum & Bobo a outside shot as well.
I'd still love to see Bill win another..............Landrum?..............eh, nota so mucha.
Course you never know what's gonna happen do ya?

| The trophy presenters, left to right are, Jim Messenger, Cindy Anderson, husband Sammy Anderson of Manchester Tn & the 4th I don't recognize. The Anderson family bred & raised Threats Red Raider, Amy's Eldorado, Threats Supreme, Ebs Black Charger & Ebs Black Diamond. They bought Threats Black Power as a yearling, broke him at 2 & sold him to Ray Dunaway. Cindy showed Diamond some in amateur & Sammy showed Supreme some at 2 & 3. | |
