Ditto ...Smitty, they are great pixs. I have a very small Jessie Pettie watercolor, wish I'd have gotten a larger one back then.

OHM, you are right. It's WIN. Thank y'all for your gracious comments, but realize that this is not a painting of any kind. It is simply a digitally altered photograph. EYE CANDY! All done on a computer. Still, I thought it was kind of interesting. I guess it does resemble a mosaic of sorts. You can get so many different effects and combinations of effects. Fun to play around with. (Photoshop can make you look soooo good!)

The Photography of Tim Flach Yes, that is what you think it is.............a horse fetus. British photographer Tim Flach spotted this on a visit to a vet's surgery, where the tiny foal's body had been preserved in a jar of formalin. he was so captivated by the fetus he took it home to shoot it with a camera. The thoroughbred baby horse died when its mother succumbed to colic and perished just a quarter of the way through her pregnancy. Strange? Sad?........perhaps, but fascinating and to some, quite beautiful. Judge for yourself. This guy is offbeat, but quite talented. He has an amazing website as well. (*Flash required) Just click on the link below and check out his work by clicking on "slideshow" or "thumbnails". Amazing stuff. www.timflach.com

A few years ago our mini mare aborted at 7 mo. The lady vet ask if she could take the baby and preserve it to show people how a fetus at 7 mo would look. We gave her permission to do so.

The AAEA studio at the horse park is kind of in back of a low building between the Carriage Horse Barn and the new arena. There are big glass windows. If you're at the horse park and you see people in there, just drop in and say "hello," like I did. This particular bunch of ladies was a lot of fun. One lady (the one drawing with the paint brush has a friend with a blog, too. http://wegwag.wordpress.com/. As for other posts ... Smitty - that photoshopped picture looks great. And the fetus is beautiful and sad. I agree with Connie that it looks like china. Still sad, though. Loving horses sure isn't for the faint-of-heart.

Just nosing around the site and stopped in on this thread for the first time....Wonderful Smitty and had seen Bradley's great works elsewhere. I am always amazed at artistic talent...for I have none. LOVE the ASB's, had considered saddleseat lessons earlier this season when things were runnning amuck in our industry. I fear that I do not have the seat nor the stamina for ASB's anymore. Catch rode one as a teen and never been on one since. I did enjoy it though. James Sigmon (former TWH exhibitor) has gone back to his ASB roots and purchased a new one.

BTW, I have one of the folk art "sculptures" of a TWH done years ago by the fellow at the Celebration, using coat hangers? Do any of you have information on him?

That sounds vaguely familiar, but I really don't know his name. My father bought it years ago and I have it in my "memory room" on display with other memorabilia. We are a pack rat family, house is like a personal museum. I will try an internet search on this name and see if I get any hits. Thanks, Bubbadog!
