I'm a Tin Man fan and would have tied him first or second. What little they showed of him, he seemed consistent. I don't like the way Chad Way rides him though. I think Steve Jones does a much better job with him. They do need to kick it up a notch with his running walk. All of them need to improve on their canter.

I wonder what would have happened if you had three judges from the good old days judge the class and have three judges from nowadays judge it. Wonder how they would differ?

Is there anyway we can see the video of Tin Man when he won the Show Pleasure Championship.

It was posted on twhnc for the year, but was taken down when this year's celebration started. I went back and watched this vid a short while back when I was checking out videos of this year's contender's. When I compared the video of his celebration win to his shows this year at Tony Rice, Wartrace and now the International, it's quite eye opening and surprising. Watch them and compare for yo'self.

Now, just so y'all don't get the wrong idea, I like Tin Man. I'll bet he feels like a million bucks to set on and I'd be proud to own a barn full just like him, I just don't like him as a stake horse. His way of going is better suited for the show pleasure division and to me he looks like he is being asked to do a gear that he just can't do. Compare the videos. Look at how his front legs have changed and his rear end has shortened and now has more step than glide.

For the record, I also love Doc Way. I worked for him for a long time and still count him as a good friend. I just want to be clear that I'm only giving my opinion on horses. Nothing more nothing less.

He's Puttin' On The Ritz

Ritz is such an amazing horse. The fans cheering for him is what walking horse shows are all about. I wish I was into horses back in 1999 when he won so I could have seen it in person, instead of videos because I'm sure they don't do him justice. Things are always better to see in person. I know he's getting pretty old now, but I wonder if he still has it?

Oh, I'd say he still has it. He may not be as good as he once was, but he's as good once as he ever was cheers

He was undoubtedly the best 2 yr old I've ever seen. Nobody could ride him like Billy, not even Tim. I always though he was too nosed out with Sammy. Under different circumstances, I believe he could have won the Big Stake multiple times.

Your right, nobody could ride him like Billy. Shades of Carbon was a great 2 yr old with Joe Martin in the irons, went down hill after that.

It works for us, but med. to poor quality. Horse don't look to great either, but I did like him in competition.
