Smiity...Only facts I know are: Steve Dunn & Tim Smith are now training together at Carolyn Thomas's barn, Jason Day moved to Chad Way's former barn on Midland Rd, Brad Davis is now at the new Black Hawk barn on 64, and Hilley, Bobby Hugh, and Scrappy are all at Rising Star.

I was in Shelbyville one day last week and noticed that Chad Williams has built a new barn to the left and behind his old one. Looks really nice.

Itchy Ears,
Wed night on What a Horse, Jerry Harris had Josh Walls on & Walls said he was at Rising Star, but it could have been an old program. Thursday, I drove past Chad Williams place & the old barns were being torn down. Last year Chad told Mason & I that a Major Groc Chain had a 10 yr option on his place, don't know whats going on there.

SB...I also heard Josh was at Rising Star. I didn't know they had already demolished Spud Warr's barns, but knew it was coming.

BD, I have been terribly sick with my asthma and as you can see from my post time I am on prednisone.
No, we don't need any dogs.....We had 18 blue ticks last year and we are down to 3 blueticks at the barn. At the house we have a shih tzu, a king charles spaniel. a wa wa, 1 parakeet and 1 parrot.

Great hire in Andy for the commission.

Bloggers Friends,
Yesterday (fri) Deltaboy, Ernest Burke & I went to the after Christmas sale in Lexington. There was snow on the ground, when We got up there. Tops & limbs were off the trees, along the BG Parkway. Elec Crews were headed back to their homes. Prices were down on the horses. 5 thousand was the TOP PRICE, while We were there. 4J brought 32 head from Mo. We left Nashville for Ky at 7am & I got back home at 11:15 pm. All had a good time, but were tard at the end. Buddy M read pedigrees. John Church a staunch old Auctioneer has still got it.

The economy is pretty bad. Plus, I imagine the storms had things dampened down, too. Are there still people without power?

I had thought about going as a spectator. I'd love to come to one of the auctions. I remember when they had it streaming online. But I had too many scheduling conflicts this week -- plus, I didn't trust the weather. I know someone who drove from NYC to Chicago this week only to get snowbound at a LaQuinta in Ohio for 16 hours.

Friends,
I don't know if all power has been restored or not, but some maintenance crews were going home. We stopped to get gas on the Parkway & the store had just reopened after being closed for several days. I talked to one man, who said His power had been off at the house, but not the barn.
If the sale reg fee was $250 & if there were some add on fees, some sellers would have to come up with some more money to settle up. In some cases, with the way things are, it would be less trouble to call Swap & Shop to post a FREE HORSE, in my opinion.

Hello Old Friends!

I logged on to this site tonight to ask a question that I knew ya'll could answer. I would never ask this on any of the other Walking Horse sites cause I know I would be bombarded with Bull S---!

I had a call from a friend who went to the sale and he said that folks were giving away horses outside. I know that here in North Alabama the local "Saturday Night Sales" have definately been dealing with that.......I was just praying that it wasn't happening with our show horses and brood mares!

I have also received an email from a pleasure horse/flat shod friend who asked if there were stalls available at my Daddy's old barn for boarding. He said that he had been contacted by many owners that wanted to pull the packages off their show horses and board them until things got better!

I know that on this site we all share the truth with each other.......so is it that bad????????
