OHM,I don't know how I missed this the other day.Please give me an update on Ms. Martha.

The International seems to be going well. Honestly, I have been pleasantly surprised at the number of entries since there is no prize money given. There have already been over 1,000 entries into the showring. Quite a few classes have had over 20 and one last night had 25 in it. The young pleasure horses are really quite impressive. They certainly DO have a lot of energy!! Some of you probably know Mr. Jeff Gillespie. I think Frankie said he is Carlan Cotten's father. He fell off twice in one class last night when his nice young horse just got out of control. Both times, he was near that concrete rail and it was scary. He walked away from it all and I certainly do hope he is okay. The major downside I have heard is over shoe sizes. The same DQP's that have checked the same horses all summer and passed them, have suddenly decided that their shoes are in question. The farrier told me last night that he worked all day Tuesday and just yesterday, alone, re-shod over 25 horses. I think they had a shoeing marathon on Tuesday from what I have heard. MIB might know more. Would someone please tell him to come and introduce himself to me before the week is over. I am easy to find......the grayheaded one in center ring!! Two more nights to go.. hope we can get through with nobody being hurt.

GREY MARE - I'LL TELL HIM TO PUT ON SOME MANNERS AND COME SPEAK. HE HAS WON SEVERAL SECONDS WITH HIS LITTLE HORSE - STILL TRYING FOR A BLUE.

We went to the International last night for a while & enjoyed it. Went expecting to pay for parking & admittance, but everything was free & appreciated. Weren't many spectators but alot of horses. Talked to Biggun, Greymare, Man n Black & watched Cadillac judge. Was surprised to see a girl show with an english helmet in a western class. Should have put an oversized western hat down over the helmet. She didn't tie in class, which was correct. Heard that Bill BoBo had beaten Jeff Givens & Trigger Treat in a model class. I don't agree that the same horse can win a plantation class & a western class. Western horse carries his head too low for plantation classes, at least thats the way its suppose to be. While we were there we did see some good stock. I also spoke to Tommy Howell, Cash McCall, Wallace & Laura Lou.

SB I am with you on the western/english head set - I would have a hard time judging both style horses in the same class - totally different head set. Changes their whole appearance from my point of view.

Caddy said it IS hard to judge those classes that have both English and Western in them. The Chat is streaming free tonight. Maybe Tommy will post a link or just go to the site...www.walkinghorsechat.com and they probably will have it posted there. Sadlbum, it was good to see you last night. You missed the best part.... the last horse that we put the ribbon on wheeled quickly and I discovered I still could move FAST!!! It brought a response from the announcer and a laugh from those still in the crowd.

I'm talking about Bobby Richards red horse winning a western class & then winning a plantation or english class. The horse is very high headed & too much to win a western class.

I went to Belfast last night, feds weren't there, nice crowd but not huge as in past, many good horses, Mickey Mc judged & did tolerable job.
I will clear up a rumor, talked to Chavingly Beasley House & her aunt Susie Beasley, is better from Breast cancer, has horses & lives in N.C.
Can't think of Chavingly's sister's name, but she has adopted twin girls from China & they're dolls, still in strollers. Link Webb won stake on Gin on the Run. Saw in Scoop where a Youth bought J Mc's Bustin Special & will show him. Jimmy just won a stake with him at Pulaski I think.

I think that it is ridiculous that the only classes at Belfast and Wartrace that cantered were the stake classes.

I like that Cadilac horse but the horse that I like best is the black horse that Knox won with earlier this summer. Can't remenber his name, but I would bet on Knox to be able to have a horse "setting" close to the way most of like one.
