Hi!
I'm smitty, the site administrator. My real name is Tim and I grew up in southern Kentucky where I trail rode as a kid. From there, I somehow got into showing Tennessee Walkers and had a juvenile horse with Bob McQuerry for quite a few years. From there, I started training my own horses and showed successfully in the Amateur Owned/Trained division for many years. I don't ride at all anymore and go to shows only rarely, but still like to talk about some of the most exciting times of my younger life when I used to ride these grand animals. I started this site as a place for some of us to continue the great discussions we had on the WHR site (before they started wanting to get into our pocketbooks) This site is FREE and always will be that way and I hope you enjoy it.

Welcome! My name is Cissy and I am originally from SC, living in the backwoods of NE Ga now - by way of Middle Tennessee. I grew up on walking horses - from the field trial to the show ring. I do not even own one anymore, but I will always think of my horse days as the happiest of my life! And I love to run my big old mouth about them!

Hi - I'm Ken and I live in the heart of beautiful Middle Tennessee. I'm not into the WH business but have a collection of old TWH books, magazines, and memorabilia that I enjoy reading and I enjoy talking about the trivia. I've been going to the Celebration since 1967 but have never showed there. I know a little bit about most everything and alot about nothing. Hope you enjoy it here.

Hi! I am Patsy. I grew up just outside of Shelbyville. We had a mare and raised a few colts. I had lots of friends in the show business, but never had a show horse myself. My horseshow memories and those of time with my mare and my Mom and Dad are some of the absolute best of my life. Once it is in your blood, I believe you can never totally get rid of it. I have been around the fringes for a lot of years and was away totally for a time, but lately have renewed old friendships and made new ones and am enjoying being back.

scooterLocation: Georgia

Hi everybody, I'm scooter. I live in Georgia, and would most likely be on the top of the list in the election for Village Idiot (I capitalize this because if it's going to be my title, I at least want it to look important).
I haven't been on a TWH in about 35 years, but still love them and enjoy watching them and listening to these other guys talk about them. Their knowledge overwhelms my senses.
I now make my living painting. In the past I have been a professional classical musician, an architectural designer and full time chauffeur to my various hobbies. My three current obsessions aside from painting are religious folk music, painting senesthesial images of religious folk music, and horses. I have been married for 36 years, have two married daughters and grandchildren. My Greek son-in-law loves ASB's, my American son-in-law likes draft horses and shares my passion for Iberian horses.
I enjoy good humor, especially if it is at someone else's expense. I can take a joke, but I would much rather give one.
I feel it only fair to warn you, that is if you are new on this site,
GET OUT NOW WHILE YOU STILL CAN!
(This place can become habit forming; however, the study on the actual addictive nature of this site has not been completed by the institutionalized committee of DQP's and VMO's. The brainwashing of all panel participants will be completed post haste. When the statistics are fully analyzed by the USDA, the pre-determined results will be announced on the Report website, meaning of course you will have to pay to learn of your addiction. At that point, it will most likely be too late for your full recovery. So it behooves me to reiterate, get out now.
Yet if you choose to continue on with this, then it is my fondest desire to welcome you and hope you enjoy your stay in the asylum.
Remember it was Joseph Stalin who said, "It is not important who votes; the important thing is, WHO counts the votes."
Seriously,
We all owe a huge debt of gratitude to smitty for putting up with us and for feeling a great sense of responsibility to keep us old ----s entertained.
Thanks again Tim for your untiring efforts and all your many hours of behind the scenes hard work you do on our behalf.
Thanks again

Hi !
My name is Rebekah Witherington (formerly Trammell) and I live in Louisville, KY. I've thoroughly enjoyed reading the Walking Horse Trivia for some time now.
My family showed walking horses from about 1977 until the mid-80's in Kentucky and Indiana. Our trainers were Ronnie Vincent, AE Embry, Lee Arnold, and Walter Bruner. My sister Rachel and her horse Stately's Crusader were regulars in the 12-17 juvenile classes. Our last walking horse was a 2 year old filly trained by Walt and her name was Supreme Chardonnay. She was sold to Sarah Dunn during the International. We switched to Thoroughbreds in the mid-90's as Rachel married a trainer's son in Lexington, KY. Thoroughbreds aren't nearly as gentle and the people aren't nearly as fun to be around!
Tim, Sam Sorrell, Frankie Jo, Billie Shelton and my sister and I all literally grew up together in the business. Barbara Shelton used to tell my sister and I that we were all a part of a commune!

I have been married to Bill Bobo for 38 years. We have two children... Chris , our son, and his wife have a son, Elijah who will be two in April. Abi is 12 and is a professional model as well as an actress. Gracie is 8 and loves sports like her sister.
We love attending Tennesse football games and try to attend all home games.
Bill and I have known Cissy (Bubbadog) for a long time. I am so happy to have found her again....Cissy, don't you dare tell any stories on us!!LOL

Rambler Location: Southington, CT

Some of you know me as Rambler on the WHC. I’m also on the Yahoogroups PerformanceTWH list, where Smitty came on a few months ago and told us about the party over here. I’ve been a little busy with the "HollyDaze," so I didn’t get around to joining, let alone posting, until now.
As for some of my other walking horse bona-fides -- I grew up in northern Kentucky. I used to watch ol’ Jumbo show, among others, on the northern Kentucky county fair circuit in the ‘60s. (I bet I saw some of you folks back then, too. ;-> ) I didn't show. My mother was afraid of horses, and y'all know how momma's word is law. So I helped out by painting headbands with model airplane paint, dabbing boots with white shoe polish and hollering my brains out during the classes. I now live up in almost-walking horse-free Connecticut.

Am working at trying to get this correct. So you all will have to just bare with me. I've lived here in the Big Separation City since 1972. Did, but no longer show horses. Now I just paint and write about them. Have been Editor of the Spotted Saddle Horse News since 1995, BELIEVE me it's a whole different ball game. My family in Shelbyville consists of a rescue Aussie and 2 cats. I'v had the good fortune to have a couple of good horses and won the Amateur Stake at the Celebration in 1961. That was when the Ladies Gelding class qualified you for the Am. Stake. It was my first trip in the Celebration ring (I'd always shown American Saddlebreds and as far as I was concerned Louisville was the World Grand Championship) I had no idea what I'd won, I remember thinking, Lord there's a lot of people here....if I won it today my head would be soooo big. Will be great to reconnect with old friend and revisit lots of old memories...

Well, Sweet F a n n y Addams, if this site doesn't take the biscuit.
I stumbled in quite by accident, and I must say, you Yanks never cease to amuse me. However, since I served in the 1st Dragoon of the British Household Calvary as well as Secretary of the Commonwealth Horse Society, I should be more than capable of holding my own in the lower equine ranks. Additionally, I am writing a thesis on Southern American Culture and this foray should prove quite educational.
Cheers!
