| It looks like a curb bit that would normally be used in a double bridle that a saddlebred would show it. Based on the pic, I'd say it was a loose shank bit meaning that the shank and the mouthpiece are two different pieces which allows a little give and signal before the curb action comes to bear. | |

| Curb nailed it! That's a standard Saddlebred bit, also called a "Tom Bass" bit........minus a set of reins and RARELY ever seen on a Walking Horse. Mason said he "doesn't ever remember Steve using one, but there it is." | |

I don't know if Bubbadog is out of town or just embarassed. You are correct! That is Bubbadog and Razor at the Hillcrest Apartments in Shelbyville in August 1970. This is a perfect example of the evils of drink!!

Does anyone remember the collision between Bomb's Bally Hoo and Moonglow Jr. in the Amateur Stallion Class/ Deleese Williamson almost fell off of Bomb. As I recall Burt was first and Deleese was second.

Thank you for identifying the "leg" - where did you get that picture - sparse furnishings and liquor brought us closer together! | |

This morning I caught Bird Dog on the golf course and she gave me the skinny on the "Great Collision" Bombs Bally Hoo got on the bit and cut through the infield. Deleese jerked him back on the track at the instant Moonglow Jr. came by at a full running walk. When they collided Deleese hit the turf. She was badly shaken up but got back up and finished either 2nd or 3rd.

| Go ahead POST THEM - one of my best friends is a lawyer (Brenda Bramlett) but she doesn't give a @#$# as long as she is not in any of the pictures - the only time she allows herself to be photographed is in win shots or victory passes. Me - I love the crazy old pictures - they make me feel young and foolish again. I'm still foolish but YOUNG? No way! | |

| @ Razor - when I was in Tn I managed to dress as I pleased - when I was around my mother I practically had to wear white gloves and crinolines at all times. She especially hated that t shirt and I think that she finally managed to seize and destroy it. She was always on a mission with my daddy's hunting "attire" as well. He was always digging his favorites out of the trash. My little mama was all about appearance and Daddy and I could have cared less. | |
