jump for joy Good Guess! In 1968 when the gate opened for the Amateur Stallion Class 86 entries entered the ring for what became one of the Celebration's largest ever classes. This may have been the class that led to split classes. Three workouts and around an hour later MOONGLOW JR. and BURT DAUGETTE entry number 1081 were declared the winner. But a strange thing had happpened. Some time during the class, the caveson on Moonglow Jr.'s bridle had broken. It must have been near the end of the class. Because, for some reason it was not replaced. So, Jr. and Burt received the Trophy and made their victory pass without a caveson.

Winning a class at the Celebration without a caveson has to be a Celebration FIRST, I would think.

Correct! cheers The one & only E. Majors was the answer I was looking for.
Here's a brief time capsule from 1973 that mentioned their opening barn party at Walking J Stables. (scroll down):

This is not an actual horse. It's a composite made up of photos of various World Grand Champions.

Let's Talk Walking Horse Trivia - Page 26 TWH

See if you can figure out what WGC's represent the following areas of the horse above:

1. Head & ears
2. Body
3. Front left leg
4. Front right leg
5. Back left leg
6. Back right leg
7. Mane & tail
