Boyd will be missed by so many...he was one of the judges when I won the Am. Stake in 1961.

For Some reason when I think of Boyd I have two memories. I remember him riding on the hill at the Celebration
with a short cigar in his mouth. I also remember his horse with the strange name of Mr. Magoo.

His contribution to the walking horse was tremendous!

We stabled next to Boyd at the Celebration one year, on the back row. He seemed like a good fellow, although I was young and quiet and didn't really get to know him. Wish I had. I remember him working Mr. Magoo & Sweetpea on that chain link fence along the back row every day, always with his signature cigar stub. This was back in the early 80's, I think.

In case you missed it, there's a really great and touching photo slideshow/video at the Funeral Home link.

I have also created a photo album of Boyd & some of his horses on Priscilla Talley's Horse Show In Heaven Facebook page:

Thanks for the links to pics of Boyd....a touching tribute to him. Last time I saw him was at Gainesville, GA show a few years ago...riding around on a golf cart visiting with everyone. Clearly enjoying the horses and the people.

Folks,

I am hearing longtime WHT member, Everett Majors is dealing with some very serious health issues.
I am unable to confirm this, but assume it is true.

I ask you for your continued prayers for our friend.

Prayers for Everett, though he was not a participant since I've been a member, I loved reading his contributions in the archives....Hoping he will improve and decide to re-join us!

I really would like to know for sure what Everett's situation is.
He trained for my father in N.C. in 1965/66 I think . He and Glenna
lived in a house on our farm. They had not been married long at that
point. The last time I was in the old barn there was still a picture of
a stroking Tenessee Walker that Everette drew on the tack room door
40 years ago.
