| That was very nice of them to use a TWHWGC, since Bardstown is in the heart of ASB country! | |

| 1941 Life Magazine PhotoThis photo from the 3rd Celebration shows an unknown horse in front of what appears to be the Hayne's Haven barn. Notice the old cars and stock truck in the background. | |

| Lyda Caudill is in the upper LH corner. She was the first lady I ever met that could hold her own with any businessman. Smitty, what was the name of her coal mine? | |

| Lyda Caudill of Elkhorn City, Ky is CORRECT. Owner of Delight's Eightball, Delight's Midnight, Immortal Delight and many other fine horses mostly trained by Jumbo Boyd.
RW wasn't it Caudill Ward Coal Co. ??? | |

| SB,I started out with an owner Am. named Guy Watts. His brother was Rex Watts who was a Pro. trainer in N.C. and judged the Cele. Guy was my brothers father-in-law.I went from helping him to working with Marvin Wilson at Claude Browns and then Kibler Farms and then Buddy Hugh at what was to become Fashion Two Twenty. | |

| Sen69...What years were you in NC? I only showed here in 1965 and 1966 when we owned Duke of Delina (a gelding we bought from Ed Hubbard). When we bought Hill I came to Tn and that is where I showed most of the time. I would spend my summers in Tn...as soon as school was out I would hit the road!! I would come back and show at our local show and the NC State Championship; but the bulk of my showing was done in the middle Tn area. We also showed in Ky and Texas; plus hit the Montgomery and Baton Rouge shows with both Rebel and Hill. I always missed those NC one nighters (seemed like they went on all night long!) and the people we met. Of course; we saw a lot of them in Tn; but some also stayed local to NC. Do you remember a father and son team by the name of Myers...the son was Burke; seems like the dad was Kenneth? They were one family with whom I lost touch...can't remember if they ever came to any of the Tn shows or not??? I remember Rex Watts too. I also remember a trainer named Kenny Price and his horse After Sun (he was one of our stallion June Diamond's biggest competition). Wasn't Dude Crowder originally from NC? I could go on and on; but just wondered if we were around at the same time??? and knew the same people?? | |
