| Personally I thought Ebony's Senator was the best of the bunch, as a show horse and he was without a doubt the best breeding stud of the five. Another Masterpiece and True Grit were good horses, but never produced a lot of top show horses, although True Grit died pretty young. I was never a big fan of Mountain Man or Bold Courier but they did a lot of winning during their careers and I am sure other folks liked them. To me they were both more show than real walk. | |

| MIB You should have rode Mouatian Man , Best feeling Horse you could have ever rode, Senator was the Best Breeding Horse But he couldn't hold a light to The Man, TWO Different kind of Horses.
I rode him the morning before he won won the stud that year, he could step over The Senators Head with them front legs that night

| What I remember best about Another Masterpiece was that he was a great big horse, probably close to 17 hands and must have weighed 1200-1300 lbs. The first I remember about him showing was when Jay Cobb from Ohio brought him to the Celebration when he was 3 and tied about 5th or 6th but he got noticed by a lot of folks. The next year Jay brought him back and won the Junior Stake. The next year he brought him back and won the stud class and was third in the big stake. He was moved to Ronnie Spears after the Celebration and Ronnie won several big shows with him and then won the WGC in 74.I remember that he was a real natural going horse, free and easy with a good bit of speed. | |

| big'n,MIB is right Senator was all show horse. He was as game as any horse I ever worked around. He could walk and shake and had more heart than any horse I've ever seen.He was a Great mudder but more than that he would go as long as Marvin wanted him to and never back down.He could have went all night the night they won if that is what Marvin wanted. Mountain Man was also a Great horse,he would thrill you with his power. Another Masterpiece was a big horse that had a lot of walk about him.Jay did a Super job with him but Master Showman Ronnie Spears put the finishing touches on him and showed the hair off him to win. I haven't seen Jay in years,he was a good guy, showed up there in Ohio with us a lot. | |

| Mountain Man was a mountain of a horse and Sammy is not your biggest guy in the world. He could ride the hair off him though. He almost looked like a race horse jockey on him. Judy made Mountain Man look really good also.
I can't remember too much about Bold Courier except that Joe Fleming rode him and that he was sort of a pretty horse. Senator or E, who all was in the class that night that he won? Seems like I want to remember that there was a workout that was pretty close.

| Big'n I dug up a little info on Bold Courier
He was foaled at Ronnie Spears farm in 1975 and was named Bedford County. He was sold to Dr. Roger Bates as a yearling and sent to Carl Edwards and Sons Stables for training. He won the Four Year Old WGC in 1979. In his first apperance in the big stake at the Celebration he placed third. In 81 he placed sixth with Gary Edwards riding. He was moved to Ronal Young the next year but Ronal was commited to show Shaker's Professer and shortly before the Celebration he was placed with Joe Fleming and that year, 82, he placed nineth in the big stake. At the Belfast show in 83 Joe and B C placed third in the stake. Joe took him to the Celebration and won one of the stud classes and went on to be crowned WGC. He never had much success in the breeding shed, and at some point was sold to Mike Thomas, I think from East Tn. and he showed him some in amateur classes. I don't know what happened to him after that but I think Mike Thomas is/was his last owner.

Anybody know how Buddy Moore is getting along these days? I saw Charlie at the International last year and I believe he said Buddy moved to Murfreesboro.

MIB... Buddy & Jane did move to the 'Boro, a few years back. I assume Buddy is doing better since his heart surgery, or I would have heard.

| OHM & MIB, Buddy is really showing His age. He read pedigrees (some) at the After Christmas Sale. I really like Buddy & it is hard for Me to see Him become an old man. By the way Jake, Janes Dad is alive & in His 90's. | |
