Folks,

I'm extremely saddened to report that we've lost another member of our group.

I've been informed that Tony Carter (Makethecut) passed away last night in Jacksonville, Florida. I don't have any details yet, but I am aware Tony had some heart-related problems. Tony has been with Walking Horse Trivia from the very beginning and has always been a strong and consistent supporter and fan of what we try to do here. To say he will be greatly missed is an obvious understatement.

I will post more details as they become available.

I am just heartbroken to hear this news. There are no words to say how loved he was. Such a kind, gentle soul. I am honored to have called him my friend.

Hey Everybody. This is Bubbadog and I am writing this from Tony's computer. His horses are grazing right outside the window.
Please pray for his family - this is such a devastating loss for them and for so many others who knew and loved Tony. He was indeed a special human being.
I don't think that in all the years that I knew him I heard him utter an unkind remark about another human being.
He was one of my best friends, and I loved him dearly. I'm going to miss him.

Oh, my goodness!!! What a shock!!! I was introduced to Tony by Harolene Willis and it was through this Board that it all came about. He was a WONDERFUL person. I grew to greatly admire him in the short time we were acquainted. I will miss looking for him at the shows and waving from my box to his box at the Celebration. This is a terrible loss for so many, many people. I am stunned. Thoughts, love, and prayers to his family and friends.

Thank you so much Smitty - That's my Tony with his big ole smile. That young fellow in the first picture with him is my son Thomas and the pretty girl is his niece Sandy Seaton. He just loved them to death.
Thomas is in the process of downloading music for the service - find TENNESSEE WALTZ by Larry Bright or Jimmy Richardson - if anyone can help please send me a message.

Bubbadog, might be hard to find a download of those organists. I did see a Jimmy Richardson vinyl record for sale on Amazon though. It probably had the Tennessee Waltz on it. Also, please verify that the following info is correct, if you will:

Visitation will be Wednesday 2-4 & 6-9 at Flanigan's funeral home in Buford, Georgia. The service will be Thursday at 3 pm in the chapel of the funeral home.

If the service is Thursday; then, as has been our custom; I will close the site for posting on that day in honor of Tony.

Bubbadog, I do have a CD of Larry Bright's Celebration music. You would be welcome to use it if I had a quick way of getting it to you. I know Harolene is probably coming down, if she isn't already there. Maybe she could pick one up at World Champion on her way or maybe she has one too. I bet lots of "horse people" have that. You are in my thoughts and prayers.

Patsy, do you think that you will be talking to Harolene? Maybe she could bring it with her.I have never met her but Tony talked about her all of the time and I'm so sorry to finally be able to meet her under the saddest circumstances imaginable.
Smitty - I think that you have the arrangements down pat. And thank you so much for closing the board for Twan - that will make him smile.

I waited a few days to post as I can't find the words to say how saddened I am to hear of Tony's passing. I only knew him for a few years as we met on this site. When I think of him I remember our last meeting in September at Clemson, he was so excited about his mare getting her start in the show ring. We poked fun at each other over our favorite football teams. I am praying for his family and friends.
