| It's not Joan Robertson Hill but I'm guessing the show would be Pin Oak. | |

| Josephine Abercrombie is CORRECT !!! Yes, mucho, mucho money and VERY successful in the Saddle hoss world and later in the Thoroughbred world. From Houston, Texas, her daddy was an oil man. They purchased a farm here in Versailles and also named it PIN OAK FARM, just like the one in Houston. Yes, she is the one who started and put on the Pin Oak Charity Horse Show for many years at Pin Oak Farm in Houston. Last I heard she was still living and riding horses here in Woodford County. The old Pin Oak Farm was sold and renamed, but she has a newer Pin Oak Farm on Grassy Hill Pike, not far from the old farm. http://www.pinoakstud.com/Hers is another interesting story from the Saddlebred/Thorougbred world. More on Josephine Abercrombie tomorrow! | |

| I remember going to cocktail parties put on by the Abercombies during the Pin Oak show, top of the line, pure class, no expense spared, the parties and the show was an ultra super social event for Houston elite back in the day. The Exhibitors were treated like royality. Most stayed at the famed Shamrock Hilton, the exhibitors banquet was held in the ball room there and they would have performers like Abbe Lane & Xavier Cugat for intertainment for those of you (besides me) who are old enought to remember who they were :) That was the golden era of horse show business. | |
