| Urban Small Jr. is CORRECT!............but it's not Midnight Sun. This Alabama-owned horse was a Amateur 50 & Over World Champion in the 50's. | |

| The one on the left is the famous Larry Gribble from McMinnville. The others, no clue. Is one of them Larry's brother Clinton? | |

| Larry Gribble & Dr. Johnson are both CORRECT! The other guy is Kenneth Lamb. No clue on the horse's names, but I believe these were sold by Gribble to Shadow Valley Farms, if I'm remembering right. | |

| I think I've posted that one before. That photo ran in LIFE magazine. I think we determined that was a cedar whittling stick with a horse advertisement on it in his hand. The whittling that used to go on at the Celebration was one of the many small things about the show that amazed me as a young lad. I understand there is absolutely none of that now.

| Smitty, whittling isn't completely dead. I saw Russell Pate whittling in his box Seat at the Celebration this year. | |

Advertising stick was for Mrs Newton Turrentine on Second Time Around. MIB has a really funny story about a bench on Vic's front porch but I'm not sure that he will tell it. It involved his Daddy.

Howard Roberts is RIGHT! The horse was Shaker's Golden Image, who I believe was later trained by Steve Aymett. I think this photo was taken when Howard was training in Virgina for Hansa (sp.) Stables.

| You may be right, Senator. My mind plays tricks on me these days. I was thinking it was Dorothy Heller or Keller. I think they showed out of Steve Aymett's barn. It looks like that picture was taken here at the Lawrenceburg show. | |
