| In the late 60's he was at Ed Carothers farm in Franklin. He was a beautiful silver roan. Ed's farm was Just off I 65 behind where Darrel Waltrip's car Dealership is today. Now the road is called Ed Carothers Road. Seems like we bred some mares to him. We bought Lady Inman Who was the dam of many time world champion Fair Warning From Ed. | |

| Great post Smitty. We have never seen this one. Anne and Rock-A-Bye won the Amateur Mare Class. We had forgotten about showing at Baton Touge in '71. Sadly, that was the last time Anne showed her before She died. | |

| I wonder how many World Championships Steve Hill won in his career? He must have won a ton of them in the '40's and '50's. Does the Celebration keep those kind of records or would you just have to rely on other old records from another source? | |

| Dutch, I have attended 52 Celebrations and to the best of my knowledge the Celebration publishes no record of the past winners. It is very strange to me that they seem to have no interest in the history of the show. The only way i know to reconstruct who won the classes is to own a complete library of all the Celebration programs and Blue Ribbon Magazines. The Celebration web site is pitful to say the least. It only mentions last years Grand Champion. There is a web site called Walking Horse.com that has partial listings of the winners from every Celebration. But, it does not show every class and it is more detailed in some years than others. The Walkers West website has a complete listing off all the Grand Champions but no other winners. It seems that MIB is the resident expert. Maybe he can shed more light on his sources other than the ones I have found.

| Exactly! I searched their site recently for past winners - obviously not there. | |

| Wish I had kept a few of the Celebration results from a lot of the old National Horseman and Saddle & Bridle magazines that I used to have. Any one that is a member of the Saddle Horse musuem can use their extensive library for free if you live near Lexington, Kentucky. | |

The Celebration web site leaves MUCH to be desired. http://www.twhnc.com/ | |

| I don't know how many blues Steve Hill won at the Celebration but I would like to. Seems like I recall there was a bio of Steve in either the Voice Or WHR a while back. That info might be in there. I do recall an interview with Steve and he said back in the 1940s he had one bridle and one bit that he showed all his horses with. He said he won 17 World Championships with one bit. | |
