| I don't think that's a Putnam. Beth was a blonde and Brenda was a bobbed brunette. Dat hoss has that "Hytone" look about him, but he also kinda looks like that Mountain's Sugar Bear hoss that Cantrell trained. I don't remember the lady's name that showed him. | |

| I won't cheat, but Putman had a connection to this Hytone horse early in his career. Beth's grandmother, Pearl Putman, ex of D.L. and mother of Wayne and Brenda, owned this horse when he won WC gelding class (?4 year old). | |

| Well, Curbchain.......you were on the right track. The above horse is Hytone's Honey Boy and the rider is none other than WHT member Mirally Meadows. I believe she was catch riding in this one. | |

| Generator's Santana is correct. One of the better modern-day horses to win the WGC in my opinion. | |

| Dang it, I can't believe I didn't recognize that horse. I thought about Honey Boy, but I didn't remember him being that dark. I guess the sweat threw me off. I seen that little horse show many times and he always got good ribbons.
Jackie was stabled at Phillip Wilson's barn the year Santana won and because I worked for Wilson, I got to watch him work Santana. He was a good'un and really pretty too.

| Curbchain, you were right on Honey Boy and he was a nice horse...that was my only time to ride him and won a "Stake" class. Back in the 80's, my late uncle (Jerry Bagwell) owned him, GPate needed a rider and it was a fun Sat night show. Judge pulled 2 horses out for a work-out...Jack Mitchell later bought him as a juvenile horse for his son, Jay. | |

| I can't really see the face for the shadow of the hat, but the posture, head tilt and overall impression put me in mind of Sam Caldwell. | |

| Did he have a horse named "Possum". I just re-read the POSSUM Snickers stuff on the other thread and have Possum on my brain. Lord, I laugh everytime I read that stuff. Ya'll need to work for Jeff Foxworthy or get a show on CMT. Too bad Hee Haw is off the air.
Now, I need to get off this computer, get on the tractor and get some work done before heading to the AL Barn Party tonight!

| Kirby is on the sweetest old mean horse that ever drew a breath. That's my old Handshaker's Design horse at the VA show in the early 80's. I sure did love that ole horse and Kirby wasn't bad either. MM - it was Delight's POLECAT not POSSUM - I had a horse named Possum one time but he died young. | |

| Bubbadog,
I remember your Design horse and I liked him. Lot of walk as I recall. You failed to mention that he was a World Champion with Larry Webb in the saddle. I don't remember what class that was, but I do remember seeing him win it.

| I don't recall, ever seeing that picture of Joe & portrait of the horse, that old Leon Sargent, put his trademarks on! Old Joe sho had that hosses head pulled up, with them loose reins!

| Have y'all ever seen or used one of those Joe Webb curb bits? I've got one around here somewhere. I believe you could stop the BNSF locomotive with that thing. The mouthpiece is copper and must weigh about 6 lbs., fairly good port on it too. I never had a horse that really liked it. | |
