One of our members (Elizabeth Taylor aka "Corky" Cottle) sent that one to me as a donation to our site. She doesn't post much here, but does post some on our Facebook site. Most of what's in that '57 Blue Ribbon has already been posted, but there are probably a few pieces that will appear in the next month or two.

Thanks go out to "Corky" for her generosity!

Ms. Warden was a longtime Equine Columnist for the Nashville newspapper The Tennessean. In addition, she wrote many articles for The Tennessee Walking Horse magazine in the early days of the breed.

"That sign was in Ramsey's barn in the Boro in 87 when i went to work there. At least 10 other trainers have been in that barn since then & nobody has ever took it down.How is that for respect? Working for Bull was a eye opener for folks that thought they wanted to work horses."

These are rare photos of a 1946 horse show in Florida, featuring Tennessee Walkers, as well as Saddlebreds.
I have no information on the location of this show, but I have reason to suspect it may be in northern Florida, perhaps somewhere in the area from Tallahassee to over near Jacksonville. (?)
There is a gentleman in one of these photos you may recognize.
