| Whatever happened to Tarquin? Didn't Bill Bailey show him 15.2 Championship. | |

| Dutch,
I don't remember Bill ever having Tarquin, but I could be wrong. This horse was slightly before my time in the biz, so I don't recall ever seeing him. I think Joe Houk won a 15.2 WC with him, if I'm not mistaken. Other trainers who had him were Doodie Power and maybe Don Galloway. He must have been a nice horse, because all he did was win throughout his career. | |

| Might have been Joe Houk that showed him to the 15.2 World Championship. He done a lot of traveling and changing hands in his lifetime. | |

| My first encounter with Claude Brown was in Montgomery. He drove his car into the coliseum while Huck was working Miss Rhythm and tried to buy her. This was before 1971 and before Daddy got aggravated with the horse business. At that point his offer was refused. But Claude liked that mare and did not give up. He managed to buy her in 1971 when she was at Mack Motes. When I pitched a fit and cried and carried on - Mr Brown tried to calm me down by telling me that he was very sick and wouldn't live much longer and that mare would make him happy. At that time, that didn't really make my feelings stop hurting cause I was right attached to old Maude. He did pass away pretty soon after that, I think, and Joelle Stern purchased her and she went to BoBo's and they did a lot of winning with her. That old mare could STROLL - but she had a big ole ugly head.. | |

| I judged the Indiana Celebration this past July and it has gone back to the way it was in the photos above, all flat shod, with the exception of a few Hackney classes. I got a call this evening to judge a show in Scottsdale, Arizona. It's now called the Carrousel Show but it grew out of the old A To Z show that was around for years. | |
