| My good buddy & part-time lurker on this site, Earnest Burke underwent a six vessel coronary artery bypass on Wednesday at St. Thomas Hosp. in Nashville. Best wishes to him & "Head Nurse" Mary Ella for a speedy recovery. | |

| So sorry to hear this. My thoughts are with his family. One of the most interesting characters in the industry and a true legend among trainers. I have word that the funeral will be in Waco, Tx on Wednesday and a memorial service will be held in Shelbyville two weeks from now. I'll post further details as I get them. | |

| Wink was one of a kind and we will never see another like him. The very first time I ever judged a show was the Stake at the Trainer's Show at the old Ellington Ag Center. Wink came in on Ebony's Black Market and put on a show that I won't ever forget. | |
