I am so sorry for your loss. May the Lord be with the entire family and her friends as they gather and try to pick up the pieces and go forward. Some things we will never understand in this lifetime.

My good buddy & part-time lurker on this site, Earnest Burke underwent a six vessel coronary artery bypass on Wednesday at St. Thomas Hosp. in Nashville. Best wishes to him & "Head Nurse" Mary Ella for a speedy recovery.

Get well quick and join us on Trivia!!! Seriously, my Dad felt better almost immediately after 5 bypasses. Was in the best shape in years within 4-6 weeks. Hug that pillow, deep breathing and start walking!!!

So sorry to hear this. My thoughts are with his family. One of the most interesting characters in the industry and a true legend among trainers. I have word that the funeral will be in Waco, Tx on Wednesday and a memorial service will be held in Shelbyville two weeks from now. I'll post further details as I get them.

Wink was one of a kind and we will never see another like him. The very first time I ever judged a show was the Stake at the Trainer's Show at the old Ellington Ag Center. Wink came in on Ebony's Black Market and put on a show that I won't ever forget.
