Below is a video I made of a hunt a few years ago. I am the guy doing all of the yelling. LOL!!
The white Walker coonhound is a dog I got from Mack Motes several years ago. He used to be a good coonhound but I found out he liked Wild hogs better. He was getting up in age and started getting the bad end of most fights. About a year after this video he was killed by a bad hog.
Here is one a friend of made of a hunt I took him on ...I am the big guy grabbing the boar at the end of the video
Thanks for sharing those Ritz-A-Roo. Looking at the size of some of those hogs makes me want to take a refresher course in TREE CLIMBING!
I have a video uploaded somewhere of me climbing about 8 foot up into a maple tree in about 1/2 a second.
On a side note..I just got a call from my dad. He is at Waterfall Farms shoeing horses today and he said he hasn't seen this much activity before the Celebration in 15 years.

That there MIB's hard to fool.... It actually was Strolling Jim. He was sold to new owners in California and was moved out to the West Coast, after he won his WGC title. He returned to Shelbyville to compete for the title again in 1941.
Smokey Carswell was the first trainer. He trained Copyrite when he won a juvenile 12-14 championship with Paula Potter riding in the early 70's. John Young also trained there as an assistant, along with Lee Hudgins, both who had previously worked for David Mason in Rockvale, TN. Mike Thomas had some good horses for Hobert later on, and he may very well have worked for Hobert in Pikeville, but I can't recall him being in Pikeville. (???)

Awwwww Grits......it'll be okay....I've NEVER been to the Celebration and I'm still alive. Was going to go last year but got the opportunity to go to a Clinton Anderson clinic the big weekend, and this year I'm going to a Chris Cox clinic. I'm running out of clinics so maybe next year? maybe......

Grits - You can purchase the stream at www.whatahorse.com or maybe from the TWHNC site. It is not quite like being there, but in a few ways, it might be better.

What well-known middle Tennessean won a Amateur class at the Celebration and ALSO won the Five-Gaited Pony World Grand Championship in Louisville as a youth?

Is it James Sigmon? I think I read that somewhere. I think Lindsey Landrum won something in Louisville several years ago too.

No, not James or Lindsey. A little before their time.

Answer: None other than Larry Lowman. As I hear, he was actually catch-riding the pony for an owner who had grown too old to show in the pony class. He went up there and won the thing!

Grits, you'll survive the Celebration withdrawels. I live here and I haven't been in ten or more years. Even let my box seats go this year....rather than mess with selling it. Still it's always fun to see old friends that stop by my booth in the Antique Mall. Just so you know you were missed at the Trivia Luncheon.
