| What a night that was. I have a few photos of both horses & riders, but not a photo with both from that memorable night. Have been looking for it myself. If anyone has one to share please post it or email it to me at: timmbur@gmail.comI'm also looking for the side-by-side shot of Mizzou's Threat & Ebony's True Grit from 1975. Another great memorable duel.....

Yes..He shod him and worked as asst. trainer at Northfork for several years as well. i have some old video footage of Diamond I am trying to get downloaded and put on the net as well. But I have NO pics other than the one from the 87b report that has dad's name listed as farrier and barn staff.

I have some old footage of Diamond, Manners of Senator, Show and Tell, Majestic Madonna, and some others from the mid 80's. A friend of mine also has some old super8 , never been seen before video of the celebration from the 50's and 60's that we are working on.

| Thanks for the pics Smitty.
We have the bottom one framed in the living room. I can remember seeing the top one before. The one that stands out in my mind is the shot of him and Secret threat going head to head down the rail. I hope someone can post it soon. THANKS!

| Here is a pic of "Sun's Whipporwill" AKA "Chick". He was an old breeding horse up in my hometown. He was directly by Midnight Sun. Just about ever horse in those parts were out of this horse or a descendant of him. The man in the pic is Arnold Wright, owner of "Chick". I attended my first Celebration with Mr. Wright and my dad when I was 7-8 years old. He had a box seat in the south west turn and to this day a family member of his still has the seats. We sit in them every year for a class or two just to reminisce about old times. He had horses in training with Elmore Brock back in the 70's and 80's I believe. As Mr. Wright's health faded, we would take him down to the Celebration and let him watch the show. | |

| I might have a copy of the one of Mizzou's Threat with Albert and Joe Fleming in one of my old Voices, that's always been one of my favorite pixs. I'll Check. Welcome aboard Ritz-A-Roo. In those old video's from the 60's hope you find one of the 1961 Amateur WGC...wow that would be awesome for me to have. | |

| Thanks S61. I think the unique thing was that Mizzou and True Grit were walking side by side in absolutely perfect timed-up unison. I'll never forget that one. ALSO SEEKING ACTION SHOTS OF EBONY'S MOUNTAIN MAN, if anyone out there has any. timmbur@gmail.com | |

| I recall seeing an ad for Mountain Man in the WHR many years ago. It featured several natural action photos that were taken at the barn, not in the show ring. Sammy was in the saddle. They were perhaps the most unbelievable and amazing action shots I have ever seen. Does anyone remember these photos?
I would really love to see them again, as well, if anyone has them.

| Sun's Whipoorwill was foaled in 1956 and had 141 foals registered to him. His last foals were in 1980. | |

| I'll ask Sammy if I see him. Talked to him a couple of times at Yokley's barn earlier in the year. Maybe the Blaylock's have some pics of Mountain Man, too. I believe they owned him later in his life. | |
