Here is a vid that may help you. It is not a vid of the 1984 stake, but there is some pretty good footage of Delight of Pride, the '84 champ. He is shown both in the class and making his victory pass. The '84 film is located from :45-1:o1.

Yeah, i have watched that a few dozen times. LOL!! I am hoping to find more footage of Black Diamond.
Now this is special! I have never seen this and never dreamed I would see most of these horses in action; much less a clip of their performance when they won the Celebration!! Love it!!

Hill, that video was posted about a year ago on this board (see page 11 of this same topic) but thanks for re-posting anyway. It is a good one!

Thanks for posting that one again Hill, I had forgotten about it. Ole Bum still looks mighty good.
Any word about the WHT lunch bunch from Shelbyville?
MIB...I loved Bum!!! My Daddy did too and we tried to buy him (one of probably a hundred others) but The Miller's were too much in love with that horse!! Do you remember when he was injured slightly as a 3 yr old? Daddy approached Mr Miller again and almost thought he going to listen. They did talk back and forth a little but I think Mr Miller was never seriously considering selling him...he would take his chances with the injury and hope for the horse to come back as good as ever. And as history tells us; did he ever!! I rode him once and I can tell you exactly what I felt to this day...he was the the most awesome animal I had ever ridden!! So many things stood out about that horse; but it is funny how I picture this so clearly...how beautiful he was in the poll of his neck and looking between his ears. He had a beautiful head set and those fantastic ears setting up over the well-flexed poll was just gorgeous!! Everything about him was amazing...he was one more power house and I was on cloud nine for days after riding him! My hopes were to breed Rebel to him...now wouldn't that have been a beautiful baby!!!!!!!!!!

When Ole Bum was on his game he was poetry in motion. One of the best I have ever seen, probably one of the best 2 or 3 of all times.

I saw that on the news...funny! They said that the horses had different owners and were from different stables...you might have thought that the owner was naming his horses along these lines; but evidently not?? Thanks for posting; I hadn't seen the whole race....this is a good one and loved the announcer!

Things in these videos didn't look near as bad as they did on "What A Horse". Maybe the judges saw things the way these videos showed em and not the way others saw it.

Thanks for the vids, Curbchain. Yeah, this is the first I've seen of anything and it doesn't look so bad to me. It MUST have been though, or people wouldn't still be talking about it and the opinions have been so unanimous. Inconclusive for me personally.

I thought I would share a couple videos of my son and his new ride (courtesy of "Pa Choate" via Darrell Frazier)
We are hoping to have his show ring debut aboard "JFK Jr." at the White Pine show on the 25th.
