Razor, you are a poet whose words invoke visions of yesteryear that create a yearning that we could share such times with our grandchildren, but know that, unfortunately, will never come again. Thank you ever so much.

Hi Razor...
I also remember you and a mare that I absolutely loved; in the show ring and in C.A.'s hallway; Pretty Woman...what a lovely mare!!
And at about this time; I secretly had a crush on you (I was maybe 13 years old) Embarassed
And I remember your wonderful parents...Doc (as my Daddy called him..Dr. to me :) and your beautiful mother...always faithful barn patrons there to cheer each of us on.
And Pin Oak.
And yes...Hillcrest.
And when You and the beautiful Anne started dating. cheers
Yes; I remember all you have mentioned; these were some of the Best Times of My Life!!

Hill

I was thrilled to hear from you. It seems that it was another lifetime. Sometimes I don't know if it really happened
or if I just read it in a book. I could write a book about the story of all of us that had horses with the Bobo's in N.C.
Memphis, and Shelbyville. You mentioned my parents. I have fond memories of all of us at the Holiday Inn in Shelbyville
Your dad was the genuine article and your mom was so sweet and so beautiful. I also remember Lane and his fondness
for racing cars. Pin Oak in Houston Texas , 1967 I won the Amateur class on Miss Sundown R who won the Mare class at
the Celebraton that year with C.A. in the irons.
A crush on me!! If only I had been a little younger!! O, well as of this year Anne and I have made it 40 years. It looks like
it will work out!!

I remember back in 1969, the year that Marvin and Senator won the WGC. We were in the same Barn with Elmer Humphrey and we had a stable made into sleeping quarters. Our beds were floating around in the stable that night when we got back to the barn. It was a mess. The rain started during the Amateur championship and Moonglow Jr. won the class.

After that class Burt was soaked all they way to her underwear. Her coat faded on her Blouse!

You really think that it is appropriate to talk about your wife's undergarments on the world wide web?

Back in those day ladies wore industrial strength undergarmets. I think we are in a safe zone!

Changing the subject , If you remember that night in '69 it rained so hard they stopped the show
after the Amateur stake and even a lot of the stadium lights went out. The south end of the ring
filled up with water. After it stopped some workmen came out and uncovered the drains in the infield
and that sucker drained like a bathtub for about 30 minutes!
When the stake class (that Marvin Wilson won on The Senator) came in about half the lights remained off
and parts of the ring were still flooded. I remember Marvin had The Senator's tail tied up with a ribbon to
keep it out of the mud

As long as we are doing presenter trivia.
Does anyone know the blond presenting the trophy
to Lynn Doughty or the short girl on the right presenting
the trophy to Steve Beech?
