| Razor, keep it coming partner! These were some of the GREATEST times of our youth and young adulthood for a lot of us on here.I know it was for me.When I think of some of the GREAT horses I had the good fortune to work with it still sends chills up my spine. And some of the exciting classes there has been.In my opinion the Cele. and most other shows of today can't hold a candle to some of those shows back in the day. | |

| Another favorite Middle Tennessee is visiting Harlinsdale Farm in Franklin. Our first visit was in 1960. At that time Midnight Sun was the leading Sire, riveled only by Merry Go Boy. Harlinsdale was at the edge of town. At that time Franklin was a quaint historic village centered around a beautiful square. As you turned into the farm you were met with a beautiful panorama of endless white fences surrounding hundreds of acres of green fescue. The pastures were filled with grazing mares and frolicking foals. Driving down the beautiful lane the view of main barn was very impressive. It was in the style of the old two story cow barns of yesteryear. It seemed that every time upon arriving you were greeted by Mr. Wirt Harlin in a starched while shirt and bow tie or the farm manager Harlin Hayes , Mr. Harlin's nephew. Harlin Hayes had a Southern drawl that would rival Rhett Butler. You would be escorted into the barn office and treated like royalty. The office walls were lined with old Blue Ribbons and pictures of Midnight Sun during his illustrious show career. Then you would have to make the pilgrimage to Midnight Sun's stall at the far end of the barn. The interior of the barn was made of stained cedar with cedar sawdust on the floor. Harlin Hayes would always get Sun out so you could have your picture made with the legendary stallion. Sometimes he would put you in his truck and give a tour of the many pastures and barns filled with mares and foals. Another treat never to be missed was the annual Harlinsdale colt sale each year during the Celebration. Everyone that was anyone in the walking horse industry could be seen bidding on colts and eating the homemade sandwitches and chess pie provided by local ladies. Another great thing about the sale was that Dr. Kenneth McFarlin (father of many time Celebration champion Kay McFarlin) would always open the sale with an inspirational speech. He was a world renown speaker at the time in the same vain as Paul Harvey. I understand that now Harlinsdale has been turned into a housing development but the main barn and Midnight Sun's grave still survive. | |

| Barn, Ill have to check with Burt about the Grooms that are in the picture. But I bet she has no rememberance of them. There also looks like there may be an assistant trainer hidden behind Moonglow Jr.'s head. I don't know who that was either. I think this was before Marvin Wilson arrived. It looks lke Buddy Kirby. Did he work for Vic in '66? | |

| Razor is correct on Minnie Pearl's burial site. For those who knew Martha Pennington Shaneyfelt...she's also buried there, and very close to Minnie Pearl. It does look like Buddy Kirby. Is "Fluff" holding Moonglows tail? | |

| As far as I Know Jerry Fields "catfish" never worked for Vic, I do know for a fact that Freddie Swagerty "fluff" only worked For Bobo. In 66 they were at GLL Farms, | |

| Rock-A-bye says Mack Moates was Vic's assistant Trainer in 66& 67. Marvin Wilson in 68&69, Dude Crowder & Jack Johnson in 70&71, then Larry Webb. | |
