| I never used one - but we had some - pretty unyeilding don't you think? My daddy was in the last division of the Cavalry during WWII and he had quite a tack collection. | |

| Smitty, That was old Paint, He was 16-1 bare footed. The very best horse, I ever owned, bar none. You could point him in a direction & He would go. His only falt was pawing fences. You couldn't have a strand of wire lower than waist high or You would be nailing on shoes or nailing up more wire all the time. If alive He would be about 24. I bought Him from a man from My same town at the Murray farm sale when he was a yearling for $200. Sold Him to Marilyn Altman from Illinois at the Wiser farm sale. He's the Dragon I was riding in the archived funny stories. The little jockey has just turned 19 & is a freshman in college. | |

| The people I board with know the Altman's from showing, and a girl who came out to possibly shareboard Indy learned everything she knows from Marilyn. Small world! I should email that pic to the girl and see if she recognizes him. |

| Indy's Mom,
A horse I used to show back in the 70's ended up in Illinois as well. His name was Drummer's Delight. I was able to contact the family who owned him last year. I think the girl's name was Shennon Wagle. | |

| I would sure like to know if Paint is still alive. He was a real top quality trail horse with a perfect gait. I remember working Him one time beside a 13 hand blocky pony with an attitude to a 2 horse wagon. That pony tried his best to break loose & run away but old paint stood His ground & held the pony back. I saw Marilyn Altman later after selling Him to Her, She had sold Him, but was very satisfied & wanted more like Him. She had seen Me riding Him beside the hwy in front of Wiser farm. 18 wheelers would breeze by & He wouldn't blink an eye. She stopped Me & bought Him outside the sale barn. I paid Tommy Grider $150 commission. 18 wheelers weren't new to Him, I pastured Him beside I-24. | |

| I'M SO EXCITED!!!!!!!!!!! We rode my new mare today! At first, she wasn't sure what we wanted, and she just stood there. Then she started taking a few steps....then I got on her.... and she walked even better. Steering is still a little stiff, but the bending and flexing is really helpful! AHHHHHHHHHH.....I'm so excited! | |

| Thanks guys! No worries...I am having a blast with this. My friend is training the horse and me! Her mantra is "patience is a virtue"! Today was only the 7th real workout we have done on Queen. We have spent most of the time getting her used to being handled, despooking, and ground work. We ground drove her Saturday for the first time, and she did really well. Yesterday, she just had some ground manners for a short lesson and then we ground drove her again today. She was doing so well, my friend thought, well why not? So she got on her. I led her while my friend did the "steering" with the reins. Then I took the lead rope off and she would stop and start, but never offered to do anything bad. So Barbara told me to get on her to see what she would do. She started walking with a little encouragement, would whoa, and turn (well sort of). It was so much fun! | |

| Cute blanket. I wouldn't dare post some of ours on here. I wanted to replace a few this fall, but Ramsey said they are just fine. He never throws away a blanket. The real old ones are used to insulate spigots, etc. | |

| Well, I am surely no expert! Anyway, you have to have your pictures on a server such as Flicker or whatever. I use the one on this board. The icon over the typing area #15 counting from the left. It opens a window for www.servimg.com If you click on browse it will open your computers picture files. I think the first time you do it, it will prompt you to register or something like that. Select the picture you want to post and click on Host It. Another window will open after the image loads, I think it shows 3 different options. I use the middle one that says image, click on copy and then right click ito the typing area and click paste. The image will not show at this point. Click on preview and that will show if you have been successful! Then click send. I still haven't figured out how to post video. Jean sent me one to post and I can't do it! | |
