When Red bought him he changed his name.

Charlie Bobo had Mr. Ree at one time. For some reason I associate that horse with a Jeffcoat, but I could be wrong about that.

Good guess (and GREAT guitarist, by the way) but that's not it.

Answer: this guy is Chuck Leavell, a very talented and renowned keyboardist who played with The Allman Brothers during the height of their popularity. He also played with The Rolling Stones, Eric Clapton and a band called Sea Level. Chuck owns a plantation in Georgia where he grows trees and owns & rides several Tennessee Walking Horses.
