I have just watched the Wartrace clips & I thought Jack Way had maybe the best 3 yr old horse in the class & he only tied 4th. I must be slipping.

Sadlbum, Jacks horse wasn't saddling (pacey) like the 1st. place horse. He wasn't off like the 2nd. place horse. Looks to me like "if you're going to tie them two at the top, you would have to tie him last or out of the money" . As near as I could tell, Jack's colt won the class. Who was the judge?, that sometimes explains everything.

Thanks for the Yearlings video Smitty. It s getting to be my fav. class at the shows. I thought the 2nd place horse won the class Nathen Millis and his grandpa Hoyte Eakes always have great looking colts.
Please someone, look at the video of Tuesday night, class 118, O/A riders on aged mares and geldings. Does anyone know who the grey horse is or belongs to. I don't think he finished the class. He was shown cantering the second way, but was not present in the line up. Any idea who this horse is? I'd love to know if any of you guys have access to that info.
Also, be sure to watch the 4 yr old mare class. The video of Another Masterpiece during the timeout is WAY cool.

Curb,
Thanks for the heads up on the Another Masterpiece video. My very first Celebration was not until the next year (1975) so I had never seen him. Neat!

Folks,
I have deleted the posts made right here this morning concerning the loss of one of our great members. I have moved them to a more appropriate topic: The Country Chapel. My apologies for deleting your posts, but I felt the conversation should be moved from the Video topic. I have copied your posts to the Chapel. Feel free to comment further there.
Sorry for the inconvenience, but I felt this was the right move.

We'll carry on now, with more video from the Celebration.
Curbchain, the horse you were asking about in class 118 is Slick and Silver, ridden by Chelsey Dial and owned by her and Bryan Dial. I think Bryan is her father. If I remember correctly, she asked to be excused before the line-up. Someone correct me if I am wrong about this.
Here is some old videos of some of the great Celebration World Champions from years gone by. The video is marginal at best, but still a pleasure to view.

You know, it's interesting but as you grow older MEMORIES are never exactly like you remember them. These videos kind of prove that to me. I think perhaps maybe our minds tend to change small details around to suit our small fancies. I also think we CHANGE as we age and that changes our perspective drastically sometimes. Maybe TIME itself has a certain warping factor to it. I was there during several of those moments on video and I remember them much differently than I am seeing them on the video.

Smitty, I agree!! I don't remember horses of the 60's and 70's going that fast "racky" lick. Lord knows, they were sitting on their tails a lot of the time!!!
