Lem Motlow is CORRECT!.......not many remember it, but ole' Lem had his own "yellow" whiskey for a while with his picture on it. I hear tell it was discontinued because it was too GOOD!

FYI: Lem once shot another man on a train killing him. He was tried for murder but acquitted. It was reported that he was indeed drunk at the time.

Last time I was at the Distillery. 2 or 3 years ago. I think they had it in their store.

There was a grave with headstone for a dog next to Strolling Jim's headstone behind the hotel in Wartrace. I think it was for another dog, not Chum. Not sure if it's there anymore (?)

The famous Maryland Farms of Brentwood, Tennessee is long gone, due to development; but what well-known business/association located on that same spot still bears the Maryland Farms name?

Answer: Actually there are several small businesses in that area that use Maryland Farms as part of their name, but probably the most prominent would be the Maryland Farms YMCA.

Answer: WLAC in Nashville, Tennessee is the radio station and it was owned at one time by J. Truman Ward, owner of Maryland Farms of Brentwood, Tn.

Not sure how this came about, but the author was living in Spring Hill, Tennessee at the time the book was published, which was 1989. I haven't read this book, but I understand the author took two horses to Mongolia as a present to a family back in the 1980's and part of the book tells of this interesting journey.
